How do I qualify for free shipping?
Your order must total $69 or more before taxes and after any other discounts. If you reach that amount, standard shipping within the contiguous United States is automatically free at checkout.
Will Backcountry price match other retailers?
Yes. If you find the exact same item in stock at a lower price from an authorized U.S. online retailer, Backcountry will match it and attempt to beat that price by 5%. You must contact their Gearhead customer service before placing your order or within 48 hours after buying.
Are any items excluded from the price match guarantee?
Yes. They will not apply the extra 5% discount to bikes. They also exclude items shipped directly from vendors, third-party marketplaces like Amazon or eBay, auction sites, and custom orders.
Do sale items qualify for price matching?
Backcountry does not match temporary rebates, bundled promotions, free offers, or holiday flash sales. The competitor's price must be a standard listed price available to the general public.
What happens if an item goes on sale after I buy it?
If you buy an item at full price and Backcountry lowers that price within 30 days of your purchase, they will credit you the difference. They must still have your exact size and color in stock when you request the credit.
What is the return window for sale items?
You can return any new, unused gear in its original packaging within 30 days of delivery for a full refund to your original payment method.
Can I return used gear if I don't like it?
If you have used the gear but it is undamaged, you can still return it within 30 days of delivery. However, Backcountry will only refund used items in the form of store credit.
Does Backcountry have a rewards program?
Yes. They operate a free loyalty program called Expedition Perks. Members earn points for every dollar spent on full-priced gear, which convert into cashback rewards, birthday discounts, and dedicated customer service access.
Do rewards points expire?
Unused rewards certificates and points balances have specific expiration windows based on your membership tier and account activity. You must check your account dashboard regularly to ensure your earned points remain active.
Can I use price matching and promotional discounts together?
No. Backcountry limits checkouts to one primary discount. You can't combine a verified competitor price match with another sitewide promotion or reward certificate.
