Ocado Sales & Offers FAQ
When does Ocado have its biggest sales and offers?
The heaviest discounts show up around Black Friday in late November and across the Christmas season in December. Beyond those two, Ocado runs seasonal hubs throughout the year — Easter, Mother's Day, Ramadan, Passover, and the Sparkling Spring Clean Sale all bring their own price-drop windows. The Half Price and Top Offers pages refresh every week.
What is Ocado's Half Price section?
It's a dedicated page where selected products are marked down to half their usual price. The range turns over regularly — so what's there this week may be gone next week. It covers groceries, household items, drinks, and more. Checking it before you build your basket is one of the fastest ways to cut your weekly bill.
What are Ocado Everyday Savers?
Everyday Savers is Ocado's permanent range of low-priced staples — things you buy every single week, like bread, eggs, pasta, and cleaning basics. Unlike seasonal promotions, the prices in this range stay consistently low. They launched it as a direct response to the cost-of-living squeeze, specifically to make the weekly shop more predictable for regular customers.
Does Ocado run Black Friday deals?
Yes. Ocado puts up a dedicated Black Friday section on its site with price cuts across the full range — food, drink, household, health, and beauty. It's not just one day either; the deals usually run for several days around the event.
How does Ocado's Price Promise work?
Ocado compares the price of over 10,000 products against the equivalent items on Tesco.com — including Tesco Clubcard prices and live promotions. You don't have to do the checking yourself. If your Ocado shop ends up costing more than the same basket at Tesco, Ocado sends you a voucher for the difference within 72 hours. Products covered by the promise are marked with a red £ sign on site.
What is Ocado Smart Pass and how does it affect the deals I get?
Smart Pass is Ocado's paid subscription. The Anytime tier (£8.99/month) removes all delivery charges, unlocks at least 10% off 500+ branded products, and gives early access to exclusive 50% off sales. The Midweek tier (£3.99/month) covers Tuesday–Thursday deliveries with the same product discounts. Both tiers also come with priority access to Christmas delivery slots — a big deal when festive slots sell out in September.
How do Ocado multibuy deals work?
Ocado runs several multibuy formats. Common ones include 3 for £12 on Meat, Fish & Chicken, 2 for £10 on Meat & Fish, and Fill Your Freezer: Buy any 5 for £10 on frozen items. Buy one, get one free (BOGOF) deals also appear across categories — on those, the cheaper of the two selected items is free.
What is the difference between Ocado's Clearance and Top Offers?
Clearance is where Ocado moves out end-of-line products, discontinued items, and overstocked goods — usually at deeper cuts. Stock is limited and sells fast. Top Offers, on the other hand, is a broader, rotating selection of current promotions across the full product range with no urgency attached to limited stock. Think of Clearance as the “grab it while you can” section and Top Offers as the regular weekly highlight reel.
How early should I book a Christmas delivery slot on Ocado?
Much earlier than you'd expect. Ocado releases Christmas slots in phases, and Smart Pass holders get priority access — sometimes as early as late September. Non-members join a later release wave, and slots between December 20–24 fill up fast once they open. During those specific dates, even Smart Pass holders pay for delivery since the free delivery benefit is paused. A minimum spend of £90 applies to Christmas delivery orders.
Is Ocado available outside the UK?
Ocado.com delivers groceries within the UK only. If you're outside the UK, you can't place a direct order. However, Ocado Group — the technology side of the business — has partnered with supermarkets in countries like the US (Kroger), Canada, Australia, France, and Japan, powering their online grocery platforms behind the scenes. Those partner retailers run their own separate offers, so check your local partner's site for deals in your country.
